A succesful start to training

Starting exercise can be a somewhat daunting endeavour. We all know that it’s good for us but it can be overshadowed when we don’t know what to do and how many times we should do it. Whilse your coach will be able to point you in the right direction, here are 5 tips you can use today to get the most success from starting your exercise journey.
MAKE A GOAL AND WRITE IT DOWN
There is a reason why you started exercising in the first place which will fuel your time and motivation whilst in the gym. Your goals will be the reason you continue to exercise, so writing them down and putting them in a place you’ll be reminded every day will ensure you stay motivated and on track.
HAVE A PLAN
Structure your day so that it includes your trip to the gym or your new favourite running route. Allocate 60 minutes after work for physical activity and make it a priority. When daily life gets a little hectic, refer back to the plan and stick to it so that daily exercise becomes a routine non-negotiable part of your day.
START EASY
Small chunks of exercise add up to big results. You don’t need to jump straight in to 7 days of high intensity training when you will receive fantastic results just from 3 days of 30-60 minutes moderate intensity exercise. As you get fitter, you can start looking increasing the frequency or intensity of your workouts.
INCLUDE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS
It’s always more fun to exercise in a group, especially when they’re friends and family. Get them on board with your exercise journey because not only does this make exercise more enjoyable, but it keeps us accountable. You can’t hide from your friends, they’ll be there to pull you out of bed for the morning run or reserve your spot in the evening class.
