Should You Be Investing In Yourself?

We’ve all heard the saying ‘Consistency is key’ and ‘Practice makes perfect’ but what happens when consistency isn’t good enough and how much practice makes perfect?? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. These words are usually accredited to the acclaimed genius Albert Einstein. Whereas, in business and economics this concept may be referred to as the point of diminishing returns.
How can we avoid this? Well luckily for you it doesn’t take much! The constantly varied nature of CrossFit does a good job at buffering this! But what happens when that’s not enough? Did you envision being a little bit leaner or more muscular by the summer? Did you think that barbell would feel lighter in workouts by now? Did you think today’s the day I’ll get that pull up or muscle up in a WOD? Tired of doing x2 the number of single unders in workouts and hate doing the ‘jump and wave’ drill. Like anything in life, good things do not come easy but if it was easy everyone would be doing it!
These are but a few of many reasons why someone would choose to invest in additional private sessions. Whether you need nutrition coaching, specific technical guidance, more exposure or simply some extra accountability in your training. Most of you will have an idea of where you are currently and where you may want to be but don’t know how to connect the dots. Well, the devil is in the detail and that is what you will get in 1-2-1 coaching, detail.

Perhaps all you need to break through that barrier is a little personalised attention. Even if it is only one or two days a month that you spend with a coach and the rest of the time is in group classes, those hours can be dedicated to focusing on your area of trouble; whether it’s gymnastics, weightlifting, conditioning, mobility or even a combination of all the above. We have had huge success with a number of clients who are supplementing classes with some private tuition.
Whether you have that specific goal or you just need that extra accountability, we’re here to help maximise your time in the gym and help you reap the benefits. Therefore before the real training can begin, our coaches will meet to discuss your current exercise routine, lifestyle factors and then with this information create a detailed plan as to how to get you there. This is where it can become extremely helpful to have a personal coach to help outline the actionable steps and schedule that makes sense for your lifestyle.
